• Studio 37 (provisional name) is a non profit entity / cooperative / association / company founded in 2019 by Marina Albuquerque, David Meehan and Eduardo Calvo.

The goals:
- offer co-working/performing space to traditional, digital and performing artists,
- to encourage as well as bring their work to the community????
 - bring their work to the community.
- to encourage people of all levels to do art: creative writing, drawing, painintg, music, theatre for its own sake.

Target market
- the artist as either a professional or amateur / member of the general public to be able to do art activities, who in order to practice/perform their art requires an affordable space and/or involvement of a community. 

key benefits
 - the community around them that will serve both as support and inspiration
- to offer ( unlike the other current coworking spaces ) a co-working space at a reasonable price for the majority of artists and free them from the economical pressure of renting their own space.
- to offer free / at a reasonable price for the majority of the community the opportunity to do art activities

Extra
There are two main other entities, but based outside Lisbon's city centre. Studio 37 would aim at networking / supporting with these. 

Aims
- help artists develop their careers, bringing their work to the community.
- encourage members of the community to do art in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Eduardo Calvo is a professional photo retoucher and photographer, working on the field for over 12 years, 5 years in one of the leading portrait studios in Dublin (Ireland), 7 years as freelancer for different photographers around the world, for the last 3 years he's been based in Lisbon. His freelancing career as a digital artist brought him the experience necessary to administer the digital artists co-working spaces within Studio 37.

David Meehan is a professional illustrator and community arts coordinator. He coordinates various types of art activities such as drawing, painting, creative writing and music. He has run one-off arts workshops and regular weekly art sessions / clubs for the community in schools, clubs, cultural centres etc.

 Mission
Studio 37 will be made of 3 main areas:
• The large room at the back of the building. Used for
1/2: performing arts space, run by Marina Albuquerque.
This space will serve the creation and representation of performing arts shows and simultaneously interdisciplinary practices of different arts. The proposed schedule includes the rehearsal of theatre, music and dance groups in the mornings, with the possibility of brining schools. During the afternoon period the space will be available for rehearsal of theatre, music and dance groups, in these case, those with an upcoming show. Other activities and workshops, like martial arts, yoga, dancing or music lessons will take place during this time also. In the evenings and weekends the space will offer to the public performing arts shows, like theatre, dance, music concerts or exhibitions.

2/2 Community Art Workshops / Clubs: Drawing / Painting / Storytelling activities run by David Meehan. The same big space will have drawing and painting clubs and one-off workshops open to all levels for people to simply do art. All art activities run by David Meehan ( but NOT renting out the rooms)  will be donations only: Min. 0€ / max. 5€ or b) free.

• Co-working Rooms    The rooms at the entrance of the building will host the digital artists and will be run by Eduardo Calvo. This space will offer desk space to digital artists, such as graphic designers, illustrators or web designers. It will combine permanent resident artists as well as temporary, where space is needed for less than a month. A comfortable desk and chair, high-speed internet as well as a creative environment will be offered to the artists.

• Art Studios     The rooms at the middle of the building will be dedicated to traditional artists: painting and drawing / illustrating run by David Meehan.

• Walls      The walls of the building will have temporary exhibitions of photography, drawing and painting to  exhibit / sell.

• Cafe: open to participants + friends of participants of the space ( + general public??) . Food sold at donations only prices

• An Art Shop for artists to sell their products.
